Choreographers have always had a fascination with dances and stories from cultures foreign to the dance maker. Join Ballet Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Museum of Art for an afternoon that examines some of the historic and influential figures behind imbuing ballet with the perfumes and flavors of the entire world. Reflecting the exhibit, Ancient Egypt & the Napoleonic Era: Masterworks from the Dahesh Museum of Art, Ballet Vero Beach uses works from the company’s permanent repertoire ranging from classical to comedic to explore the line between loving tribute and cultural appropriation.
