
2023-2024 SEASON
Ballet Vero Beach’s 2023–2024 Season features three main stage programs with original works, world premieres, and works by master choreographers George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and Martha Graham. Nutcracker on the Indian River (our beloved local take on the classic holiday tale) returns, and Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre makes its Riverside Dance Festival Debut.

In partnership with the Vero Beach Film Festival, Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to present the first feature length documentary ever made about the company. Resident Filmmaker Lance Glenn knits together the behind the scenes story of our 10th Anniversary Season from the perspective of the staff that made it all happen. The live premiere screening includes a post film discussion. Both ticket holders to the premiere screening and on demand viewers will also receive free access to the company’s latest ReBVB short film, Ophelia, an official selection of the 2023 Vero Beach Film Festival.

Nutcracker on the Indian River retains all the whimsy and magic of the original ballet, but moves the action to the year Vero was founded (1919). From land crabs to manatees and river otters to bougainvillea, our production has become an instant classic which takes all the magic of the stage and uses that magic to both entertain and inspire.

This extra special hour-long performance is specifically geared to the needs of the differently abled individuals of our community and also young children. Join our heroine, Marie, on a holiday journey from New York to Florida with a magic-filled performance that both entertains and inspires.

Program 2 of Ballet Vero Beach’s 2023-2024 Season features bold leaps forward in our repertory development. Balanchine, Graham, Wheeldon will not only feature the main stage premiere of the complete Sylvia Pas De Deux by George Balanchine, but will also feature our first forays into developing relationships with Tony Award Winning Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon and the legendary Martha Graham Dance Company.

Ballet Vero Beach’s 2023-2024 Season comes to a close with two sweeping works that have rapidly become new classics. French choreographer Yves de Bouteiller’s supremely allegorical West Side Story Suite finally arrives, and our own The Sleeping Princess returns to the main stage for the first time since its 2021 premiere.
